Water Smart

Currently Las Vegas receives over 80% of its water
from Lake Mead. The local resorts use less than 7% and about 59%
is consumed by single and multifamily homes in Las Vegas.
Landscaping around Vegas homes takes about 70% of their total water
use.
The
Southern Nevada Water Authority is working hard to
reduce the landscape consumption by promoting Xeriscape design.
Since the beginning of this program over 50 million square feet of
grass has been replaced with Xeriscape and resulted in a 2.8 billion
gallon reduction in water usage.
Las Vegas Real Estate
developers and homeowners have
joined in the program to aid in the reduction of water demands in our
area.
Car wash facilities in Las Vegas are also doing there
part to recycle water and reduce demand. Click on the carwash
